I am someone that wishes she could travel light but the reality is I take way too much on holiday. I want to be able to wear a vintage dress every evening but then end up wearing the same one over and over. When will I learn? This year I am determined to pack light – and here are my “must have” items.
Layered Gold Jewellery
I have totally embraced the layered gold necklace trend and true to form now have too many! But I want something that I can wear daily on holiday, including in the pool so am taking this shorter combination by Daisy London. I love the delicate nature of the two together and they’ll be perfect to be worn all the time.
Orla Kiely Wash Bag
I will be using my Orla Kiely wash bag to carry my suntan oils for the beach and by the pool. I bought this one from Vinted and usually store my gel nail kit inside it. I am a huge fan of the brand and love this pattern. It can still be bought from Next and other retailers.
My Books
I hardly ever read which I know is so bad especially as I have an English Literature degree! On holiday I read about 5 books and this year I have packed Invisible Women by Caroline Perez.
My Headphones
I have invested in a new pair of headphones this year that block out all noise! I cannot wait to listen to podcasts in the sunshine. I bought these by AKG – recommended to me and currently have almost £100 off!
Saltwater Sandals
Another staple for me on any holiday is my Saltwater sandals – I love how I can swim in them too! They were first designed in the 1940s and have pretty much stayed the same but with new fab colours. I have the gold pair this year.
High waisted bikini
I have made an effort to not buy any new dresses this year as I have way too many! I have only bought new bikinis as there was no way I’d fit into my old ones!! I have gone classic (finally a grown-up!) and bought two high-waisted sets by Marks and Spencer.
Vegan makeup
Finally, I will do my gel nails before I go (I use Blue Sky gel varnish which are vegan and comes in lovely colours). I will also pack my Delilah makeup – also vegan, British and a brand that I love and wear it every day.
