It’s been well over a year since I finally got my own home office. Working from home is the norm here as I have now run my own business for 10 years but it took rather a long time to get my own “official” space. I have loved working in an environment where I can close the door to it at the end of the day, plus surround myself with vintage wallpaper, lamps, planters, and more. But here’s the thing – having painted it a dark green colour, and it is a north-facing room, there is very little natural light, meaning all the plants that I bought died, fast! At one point I toyed with the idea of faux plants but quickly ruled that out as, while they can look nice, they do not help with the air quality in the room. And they get super dusty! I was therefore delighted to be asked to share briiv with you all. Briiv is a wireless air filter that actually looks nice. I am not a fan of modern ugly gadgets in my vintage space and thankfully Briiv is a good-looking air filter! Today I want to share more with you, about what it is and how it works plus why I am now a fan!
Firstly why get an air filter? Clean air means better sleep, and being able to breathe properly results in better productivity. Reducing toxins, pollution, and fine dust in the air we breathe is proven to improve our health and make us happier.
One Briiv equals 3043 houseplants
Now that’s a LOT of houseplants. While in the kitchen it looks like I am trying to collect that amount of houseplants, there is no way anyone will have this amount in their home let alone one room. Plus I am quite good at killing them!
Houseplants are renowned for creating cleaner air, which boosts mood and creativity so imagine having one device that does this by the lorry load? WOW right?
Briiv looks good
It has a contemporary design that reminds me of a terrarium rather than a white ugly plastic device. It works well in any space, even on a mid-century desk like mine. The base is matt black which blends in with my surroundings, and the top is made from glass. Inside all I see is moss and the natural layers that look lush and great.
Another plus is it looks good standing alone or displayed with other plants or decorative items.
Briiv is sustainable
Briiv offers a more eco-friendly solution to air filters. 15,000,000 air filters were purchased in 2019 and the filter needs to be replaced every 6-8 months; these filters can’t be recycled resulting in 6000 tonnes of HEPA filters ending up in landfills. Not good. Briiv offers a solution to this with their bio-degradable filters and is made up of layers of natural moss, coconut, carbon, and silk to filter the air. This means when you need to replace it you can compost it at home.
They also offset anything that is not sustainable by planting trees via Carbonfund.org
This is really important to me as a consumer and I am so glad there are companies like Briiv embracing what’s needed to look after our planet.
Briiv workes with an app
Using the dedicated Briiv app means you can schedule when the filter starts and ends, plus boost it at any time. Easy for busy people like me! There is a support team on hand to help plus it uses low power compared to other filters saving you money.
Briiv actually works!
This is not another gimmick – Briiv has worked tirelessly to create an attractive, sustainable product that actually works! It helps remove:
- PM10: pollen allergens
- PM5.0: bacteria, mould spores
- PM3.0: harmful fine particulate
- VOCs: harmful gasses
I noticed a difference within an hour and with it sitting by my desk, it made me feel more alert.
