Our Vintage Life

Well it’s been a dreadful week for most with storms and flooding – we really feel for people who have lost their homes. We can’t even begin to imagine what that feels like, but for someone who loves their furniture and “stuff” it must be devastating.

We drove across the country on Saturday, last weekend to collect items we had bought. Thankfully the weather wasn’t bad that day as I drove all the way to Wales and back which was 6.5 hours of driving. Was it worth it? Hell yeah! I picked up 42 pieces of Crown Devon Stockholm ceramics.

We had some for sale last year which was snapped up pretty quickly. The second it sold I regretted it, and when Christmas came and I started planning the dinner table I simply yearned for it! So I planned to collect throughout the year but when I saw someone selling 42 pieces I couldn’t resist!

The leaping stag is on trend at the moment too so they have been even harder to find. We bought this large teak stag too, with the intention of selling it. When I got it out to measure it, it decided to stay!

Adam meanwhile drove to collect a van full of Ercol. Another studio couch, armchairs, lounge chairs, butlers tray, dining table and chairs plus..the best of all….a set of pebble tables. We have wanted some for so long and finally we have some. They needed a bit of TLC which Adam duly gave them and now they are sitting proud at the back of the house.

Well, it appears all we have done is buy stuff this week! To be honest, buying and selling it pretty much it…although there has been some creating Valentines cards and getting a new website ready….

A new website? Watch this space!
