We havent had a vintage customer corner for a while so today we are having a double whammy!
First up is the lovely Jane who bought this 1950s green hat from us at Cambridge Guildhall last weekend. She came to help me unpack which was much appreciated as Mr YVL looked after the kiddies and this is when the hat caught her eye. We had a few 1950s and 1940s hats that day but she was drawn to the green colour.
I’m sure you will all agree she looks great. The green really looks good against her hair colour. It’s not an easy hat to wear due to its shape but worked with Jane’s fringe.
Next up is this lovely lady who bought our favourite gold vintage dress from us at The Festival of Vintage a few weeks back. The dress was worn on a honeymoon back in 1959 by a lovely lady who lives locally to us. It came with a stunning black velvet coat which never made it into the shop (but straight into my wardrobe..tough life huh?). It is handmade with thick layers of under skirting to give it its shape. The flowers are a velvet brocade over the top.
Well it fitted this new lady like a dream and she was so happy with it. She also loved a blue suit with mink collar which was the same original ladys going away outfit but alas this lady felt that blue wasnt her colour!
Photos of happy customers wearing our vintage wares makes me happy!
This is a fantastic dress,
