Vintage Academy, the business I co-founded with Keeley Harris, is back and raring to go with exciting new ways to inspire you to make vintage your business.
It has been a very busy 6 months for us both, which has meant we haven’t been able to host one of our one day workshops. However, what we have learnt along the way will be so valuable for next year and we are eager to share their learnings with you all. I have taken over the National Vintage Wedding Fair from Keeley, launched Kate Beavis Home, written a Christmas e-book while Keeley has finished her first book including managing the photo shoot and launched Vintage Keeley, her new blog. We have both even found time to film for Channel 4 (news on that soon!)
Next year, will be a great one for Vintage Academy with more ways to learn and get involved.
One Day Workshops
The one day workshop is returning in the Spring, early Summer and Autumn in London. The day covers everything you need to run your business: branding, marketing, social media, retail, blogging and loads more. It’s the perfect way for new businesses to get an overview of what is needed to successfully run your own business as well as a great chance to pick our brains. It’s an informal day, where you feel relaxed to ask any question as well as a chance to network with like- minded people. The workshops are on February 28th, June 13th with one later in the autumn, date to be confirmed. The workshop cost has been reduced to £150.
Vintage Academy are launching half day masterclasses targeting specific areas that will enhance your business. The first sessions to launch are half days on social marketing and blogging. Plus the workshops will run on the same days so you can attend both if you wish. These are ideal for businesses that are already running but are either struggling with the social side of things or want to launch a blog. So if you need advice with hosting your blog, understanding what the point of Google + is or how to grow your blog readership then this is the workshop for you. These will launch in March and cost £100 each.
One to One Coaching
Don’t want to attend a workshop, maybe London is too far for you but still need the advice and inspiration from Vintage Academy? Then new for 2015, are one to one coaching sessions from myself and Keeley which can cover absolutely anything you want from getting advice on how to display your stock, how to use Ebay or even help setting up Twitter. Prices start from £50 and can be done over Skype, at your home or anywhere that works for you.
Our sponsor, Vintage Life magazine caught up with to find out more. “We are so excited to be back”, said Kate. “It has been such a busy time for us recently and now we are raring to go for 2015. Vintage Academy has really helped vintage businesses so far, and we are keen for this to continue. We also recognise that there are differing needs out there, from people who are just starting out to the more experienced so we wanted to create different packages to inspire and help everyone.”
Keeley continues, “We are especially looking forward to the one to one coaching. It will be great to meet more like minded people and help them with literally whatever they want or need. It has been wonderful seeing what our graduates have done since coming to Vintage Academy, watching their businesses grow and see them becoming more successful in what they do. It makes us feel very proud and we can’t wait to get back out there!”
We have also set up a new Facebook group dedicated to any type of vintage business called the Vintage Business Network, which is a place to ask questions, share ideas and create new business contacts. Alongside this we still write a regular business column for Vintage Life magazine and are keen to answer your questions within it.
