Our Facebook posts this week for our ‘Do you Remember’ feature have had some great reactions. All photos were posted on the Your Vintage Life Facebook page, come have a read…
We all remembered watching Worzel Gummidge and Aunt Sally back in the day…however the memory of the spare set of different heads he had still creeps us out. Great Saturday TV memories though at a time when sitting down and watching television with your family was still a big thing. Cup of tea and a slice of cake, anyone?
We loved Saturday Night Fever and dreamt of dancing the night away with John Travolta back in the 1970s and 80’s. Watching it now its a lot grittier than we’d remembered though! One things for sure – the disco dancing and music is FABULOUS!!! You loved the sequel Staying Alive too…
All you children of the 1980s played with the Big Yellow Teapot. A totally random toy but loved nonetheless.
YVL’s earliest memory of eating Fondue is watching Bucks Fizz win the Eurovision Song Contest while eating a meat one! A sophisticated trend from a time that loved a dinner party. You remembered it fondly (although with the risk of a burnt tongue!) and still like the odd one now especially if its chocolate…
We all LOVED Adam Ant back in the early 1980s. He was beautiful, clever, extremely fashionable and an style icon for all us budding New Romantics. A relatively short pop career but mega hot while he had number ones. We all wanted to be dandy highwaymen – even if we didn’t quite know what one was!
Who watched and loved Hilda and Stan Ogden in Coronation Street? A great depiction of a long marriage and beautifully acted. Hilda often had her hair in rollers under her chiffon scarf and they had a set of flying ducks positioned on their “Muriel”. Who knew we would now think that was cool?!?
