Yesterday we went to a christening and for once the sun shone!
They used our cake stands for their cakes and pies which we featured yesterday in our Vintage Diary.
So what do you wear to a christening? Churches are often quite cold so I didn’t want to wear a sleeveless dress. Obviously I would be wearing vintage but didn’t want to be too dressy or costumy…….
So I opted for a white 70s belted dress with frill bibbed front. Long slightly ballooned sleeves meant my arms were covered. It’s quite sheer however so needed to be careful with what I wore underneath!! The design is in browns and greens.
I wore long kitten heeled suede boots in dark brown (yes it is summer!).
With my grandmas cameo ring and a simple faux tortoiseshell flower hairclip, my accessories were understated
I chose one of my favourite handbags: a 1950s mink leather puff shaped bag with lucite frame.
What do you think?
Dress: vintage, thrift find for about £18
Boots: LK Bennet…too expensive to mention but they are about 7 years old so have lasted well.
Handbag: vintage: store in Northampton approx £20
I really like this dress, shame its not for sale. and the bag is lush! x
