“In 1981, the UK milk manufacturers introduced colourful advertising on milk bottles. As supermarkets were growing in popularity, independent milk companies needed to generate revenue in new innovative ways. Advertising established brands was a winning strategy and continued well into the 1990s. With transfers highlighting breakfast brands such as Kellogg’s cereal, Maxwell House coffee and even Colgate toothpaste, they created a bright fun way to start your day.”

These bottles are really fun and work really well as vases. For the book we styled one with tulips in front of a classic 1980s framed print that belongs to my mum.
We however also use them as vases.
When we are flower less (boo!) we simply, place them out on display within our brightly coloured kitchenware. Even though they date to the 1980s they sit really well with 1960s collectables..something I write about and feature in the book.
