A while back we sold an amazing 1950s kitchen unit and table. They were bright yellow with black and gold swirls all over the formica. They were made by Barget who were better known for their cocktail units back in the day.
We sold them to a local man, who we then found out from the courier that its was for a production.
Well, it’s not like me to miss anything, so I got straight on the case to find out what they would be used for.
Turns out they were for a room set being created in Hyde Park for the Diamond Jubilee. To celebrate 60s years of Pataks, a kitchen set was set up to replicate the recent advertising campaign.
We had in fact only a month earlier featured the same set with 1950s kitchenalia at the Bethnal Green Furniture Flea.
Here are some photos from Hyde Park
We love the table with the elm legs and matching Ercol chairs
The crowds came flocking
We are so pleased it was well used and loved by all the visitors. Here is the advert..check out all the old kitchenalia!
