We Love…Pretty Nostalgic magazine

We love vintage magazines but Pretty Nostalgic is something a bit different and that is why we love it so! A bi monthly magazine which focuses on vintage, but is so much more. It’s fiercly independent while still being mainstream, printed in the UK  and on a mission to inspire us to live a more ethical, nostalgic lifestyle. Their mission statement is “spend wisely, waste less and appreciate more” which is apparent in all of their features.

What’s more it feels different: it is square in shape and printed on uncoated, sustainably sourced paper using vegetable inks and then perfect bound so it resembles a book more than a magazine.  It is literally beautiful.

Hence us being so proud to be featured in the latest issue:  our home at Christmas adorns 6 pages as well as the cover.

Mid-century Christmas features many beautifully shot images of our home as well as a cheeky picture of us!

The cover features our 1930s freestanding kitchenette, or bake station as we like to call it , crammed full of ceramics, sweets, bakeware and the homemade cookies that Mr YVL baked for the shoot.

But of course, it’s not all about us (!)- the magazine is also filled with interesting articles, with historical information as well as inspirational photos and content.

Vintage shopping in Southsea is a must read.

The Pretty Nostalgic thrifty gift guide provides us with fab ideas to make such as this marmalade gin. Why not team it with up with vintage plates and cutlery to give it a vintage twist.

They love a “A to Z” article and this month it’s time for puddings.

This vintage bakeware feature is so up our street and the bright colours simply pop out from the page.

It can be bought online or at WH Smiths and at fairs around the country. Go see..you won’t be disappointed! For more details check out their website and blog.
