I have admired the Freddies of Pinewood’s Grease Monkey denim jump suit for some time. To be honest, when gifted a pair last year I didn’t feel confident to wear them. Silly really, as let’s face it, women of all shapes and sizes look great in their vintage style Freddies jeans. They are super flattering, hold you in where you need it as well as having a high waist that makes you seem taller.
But recently I have put them back on and feel amazing in them. Teamed with my Lotta of Stockholm clogs I have created more height and feel ready to kick ass.
Or with my Converse, I feel ready to conquer the world.
Based on a 1943 design, the Grease Monkey is made from a dark indigo denim which feels soft to wear. They have the usual Freddies cream stitching details and I especially love the top pockets. Worn with the matching tie belt with silver ring buckle, they sit perfectly on me.
I don’t always dress in the clothes of the 1950s, and I like that I even feel a bit 1970s in them. I remember my mum wearing jump suits back then and into the 1980s so maybe this is why.
I’m using an unnamed 1950s vintage window pane bag with this wonderful French poodle on. It is similar to the Princess Charming bags from the same era.
