A stunning beaded 1960s vintage maxi dress

While shopping at The Summer of Vintage Festival last month I literally fell in love with a vintage maxi dress. It was quite pricey as well as a “going out” dress, something that I don’t do much so I just couldn’t justify buying it BUT it was so bloody gorgeous that I could not resist. And I am so happy that I didn’t as it is truly stunning.

It is a 1960s maxi dress in a chiffon material in lovely shades of pink and green forming leaves and flowers all over. It as no makers label on, just the boutique it was sold through: Tyrone. It probably was quite pricey back in the day.

What makes this dress so special is the heavily beaded belt and cuffs which are immaculate. They are filled with glass beads in different sizes including rhinestones to make flower shapes. Stunning.

I have no idea where or when I will wear it but I am sure that I will. Maybe to the 4 Counties Awards ceremony where I am a judge.

I’ve teamed it up with my silver shoes from Clarkes last year and my 1950s vintage lucite bag.
