It’s been a full on week getting ready for Mr YVL’s 40th birthday. Tomorrow is his party and it has a definite 1990s theme: think Hooch, jelly beans, Nirvana and smiley face balloons. Check back next week for some photos, especially as we are wearing 90s retro fashion.

Glow sticks for that Summer of Love vibe
I drove to Somerset on Monday to meet Pearl Lowe. I interviewed her for the blog: asking questions about her book, Pearl Lowe’s Vintage Craft, her stationary line and of course her home. It was a pleasure to meet her. I wore my 1970s vintage frill dress and long boots (autumn is definitely here!)
The book was featured in the magazine: Mollie Makes.
We are busy writing a men’s gifts article for a magazine to be published in November.
And this blog featured in Pretty Nostalgic’s top 10 blogs for “Nostalgic Living”. Actually this was last May but only realised this week! (Note to self: must pay more attention!)
We welcomed Tatyanna to our world as they became a sponsor of the blog. They sell beautiful vintage style dresses: I love this red one which will be perfect for December parties as well as for the summer.
We got a very exciting email asking for our home to be featured in a 6 page special. Christmas will come early in our house as it needs to be styled with festivity. May be a little odd that when the children come home from school it will be Christmas in October and the next day it will be packed away again..almost like a dream! Now I just need to find a tree!
