Last Saturday, the MK Handmade & Vintage Fair was held at the shopping centre. We historically have traded there, but this time we went to review it for our sister site: Vintage Bedford and MK. The stalls were lovely with some great vintage treasures for sale. We bought some bits for us while we were photographing. We found a Gaytime ceramic storage jar by Lord Nelson and this Quality Street tin. Mr YVL had already bought me the CathrineHolm saucepan earlier in the week…aren’t I a lucky girl?
We also were given these cute hairclips dating to the 1960s…Thanks to Vintage Originals for the gift!
On Sunday, we set up shop at the Furniture Flea. We had a great day and sold lots of furniture and then had to deliver it after the event. This is our stall.
The weather has definitely changed hasn’t it. I’ve bought these new patent brogues and am on the lookout for a new coat.
Our beaded bags are to be featured in the Jan issue of Homes and Antiques magazine. I spent some time this week searching through our bag collection (stock and mine): this one is my favourite! It’s a Midas of Miami 1950s box bag and I was given it one Mother’s Day.
Tally, our newest member of the team joined us! We cannot wait to start displaying our vintage fashion on her.
Vintage Academy launched last friday which was very exciting. Within half an hour we had enquiries from Belgium…..
We were also featured in the first issue of V&Oak magazine. It’s a great magazine, covering all decades, with great fashion that is very editorial in its feel too. It was an interview I did some time back and am really pleased with it!
On the family front, it’s been a question of getting back into the school routine, digging out the jumpers and planning Mr YVL’s 40th in two weeks time……oh and I went out for the evening (this is very rare!) and wore my Miss L Fires
Phew…another great week..can’t wait for the next one!
