As discussed earlier this week, I have recently started to sort through all my clothing and jewellery, ready for the impending paint job my spare room is getting. My jewellery was everywhere, so I spent a good hour or two going through all pieces and putting them away in my Danish sewing box.
And boy do I have a lot. I could open a shop! I need to have a clear out really but at least I can now see some of my favourite pieces which, to be honest, I had forgotten about due to the tangled mess they were all in.
Here are some of my favourites.
This pink bell necklace I bought from ebay some years back. I love how it is so pretty and unusual.
I bought this stunning 1930s necklace from an antiques fair but I must confess, I have never worn it.
I bought this brooch to sell but couldn’t part with it!
This silvertone plaited cuff was a Mother’s Day present a few years back, bought from an antiques fair.
This hand painted brooch was a pre wedding present from my lovely friend and fellow blogger Sarah.
These are my original 1990s crystals bought from San Fransisco. It’s funny how they are for sale everywhere now, and I love that I still have my old ones!
I bought this 1930s original celluloid bangle from Etsy. I love how it’s an early model, and the colour is gorgeous. I have loved these ever since I met Natalie from Passionate About Vintage: a great place to buy this kind of jewellery.
This and the below cameo brooch belonged to my Grandma and her mother before. What’s not to love?
Which is your favourite?
What a lovely idea for a jewellery box (a huge jewellery box at that!) All your pieces look beautiful Kate – you have an exceptionally good eye for these things. 🙂
I think I’ve spotted what looks like a Sarah Coventry mesh bracelet (2nd row down in the centre). It looks very much like the ‘Star Lighter’ design which dates c.1960s. So pretty. I had one for sale a while back. The stones in that were pale sapphire-blue. A fabulous collection Kate. I bet your daughter loves looking through that box of treasures!
Ooh is it, that one was my grandmas. The star fish is my fave I think. It’s got HAV printed on the back…any ideas? K x
Sorry, I don’t know the HAV mark and it’s not in my jewellery book either. It’s a lovely brooch.
What a lovely collection! I’ve just moved flats so I’ve got a pin board for my brooches, so I can see them as I wear them everyday. Need to sort something for my earring and necklaces though!
I particularly love the 30s filigree brooch (top row, right) such lovely colours
Yes the filagree brooch is fab…and a bargain at only £3!
