I seem to be attracting the birds recently! There’s something about a bird motif that makes me happy, and they seem to be everywhere right now.
On a recent trip to the local tip I found this vintage bird lampshade, which was tweeting out to me to be rescued. The lamp didn’t work so I added it to this modern glass lamp from John Lewis. The colours are really vibrant and the condition is amazing since I found it literally dumped!
While buying succulents from Ikea with my friend Kim, she bought this bird collage. We both spied it separately, both loving the prints. I wanted them as separates to send to people as postcards so I went to ask the sales assistant if they sold them like this. Meanwhile my friend Kim had added it to her bright yellow shopping bag! It now hangs proudly in her conservatory amongst the tropical plants!
She also spied on my Instagram feed my mosaic birds made from broken vintage china, designed and created by Box of Frogs and sold through Yay Retro. She ordered a blue/grey small bird with a jewel like ceramic eye. He is lovely!
I was sent to review this wall vinyl from Nubie, a modern kids boutique. I was intending to hang it in Kitty, my soon to be 5 year old’s bedroom but seeing Kim’s selection of birds it really was perfect for her. It’s a small blue tit sitting in his birdcage. Easy to apply, there are other colours available too. I love how it looks 3D but is totally 2D..very clever!
And on that note lets leave with you with a blast from the past……
