I Love Vintage Tins

Regular readers of my blog and social media sites will know that I grew up with tins. From the mid 1970s, my parents ran a successful tinware business designing many familiar tins that we all had growing up and now collect today. With this in mind, alongside my love of vintage, it is only natural that I am going to collect older designs as well as trying to gather all the ones that my mum and dad designed. So I thought I would start to share some of my collection.

I recently bought this Cadbury’s biscuit tin from Pineapple Retro. I have been on the lookout for this one for ages as it is so colourful and fun.

It has familiar people around the side; tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor, richman, poorman, beggarman and thief. What I love is that their heads are on the lid so you can twist it around to change their look.

It reminds me of the 1970s puzzle where you twisted body parts around to make a funny looking man! (Did this have a name?)

I am not sure where I will keep it or what i will store in it but hey, this matters not! It is is for now sitting on the sideboard alongside many other tins.

Have a look at some more of my resent vintage tin finds here.
