Get The Look: Vintage Lighting

We love vintage lights here at Your Vintage Life. Whether it’s an anglepoise, a rocket lamp or an atomic shade, we have them all in our home (as well as in our shop)

At our desk, which is actually a G Plan dressing table, we use  retro items to store our papers in such as this Crayonne LP black plastic rack from Habitat in the 1980s. Pride of place sits our bolt on light which we rescued from a professors desk at our local university.

In our lounge we have a spun resin orange rocket lamp dating from the 1960s. It really sums up this era, with everything going a little space crazy due to the space race.

These were often sold through BHS in the 1960s-70s and have a great see through, molten lava effect within them. Ours sits alongside other retro bright accessories on our Ercol sideboard.

orange shatterline lampWe love teak, and this large table top lamp is a true beauty. It has a turned base and the original woven shade. It sits alongside our teal blue wall.

1960s lampThe ceiling lights are also original. This white acrylic white claw like shade hangs at three different lengths above our Arkana table.

1960s lightsAnd this bright orange glass light was a present from myself to Adam, not long after we met. It hangs from the high ceiling in between 2 white glass shades. It gives off a lovely orange glow which has provides a calmer feel when lit.

This modern anglepoise style lamp with its pastel shade would be perfect in a 1950s styled home. From  Lighting Majestic, it sits on a heavy chrome base. Teamed with our pale pink glass, it looks lovely.
