Festive Five: Great stocking fillers for a vintage fan

You’re never too old for a stocking, right?  I get a bit stressed buying presents at Christmas, but one thing I love to do is making up a Christmas stocking for someone I care about.  There something about finding little curios, toys and sweets that reminds you of childhood and makes you really think about what you’re buying.  The great thing about filling a stocking is it can be as random as you like, filled with gorgeous little things it seems silly to buy at any other time of the year.  Make it a little easier by sourcing them online at Etsy – its the perfect place for stocking fillers and all these wonderful vintage inspired items under £10 are available now.

1.  Buying for a person who loves to cook?  These Homepride vintage pie funnels are great and rather cute… These would look as good on the shelf as they would in a pie.

2.  For someone that likes quirky jewellery what about a wonderful brooch made from a vintage Christmas stamp?  This is just so sweet and remind us of times gone by…imagine posting a letter for 17p now!

3.  If you’re buying for a big kid, try a vintage 1950’s wooden football rattle – very noisy but very fun!  Great for cheering on the Boxing day football or just being silly.

4.  For the chocolate lover then this adorable chocolate sewing kit is a winner – great for any ‘make so and mend’ vintage lover.  Yum!

5.  For the fashionista how about some fabulous pencils with quotes from Coco Chanel?  These ones from Etsy are just adorable – and anything Coco said we at YVL listen to.

Throw in some novelties like stick on moustaches, silly straws, Christmas socks plus maybe the odd vintage find such as a little vase, book or scarf and you’ll have a stocking that any vintage lover will adore!
