Carltonware money boxes – new collection alert!

I don’t need any new collections. Fact. I have too many already but I can clearly see a new one forming! I received this ceramic piggy bank for Christmas which is made by Carltonware in the 1960s/70s. I love the colours as well as the fun psychedelic style.

He comes in other colours too but I’m so happy I have an orange/red one to match my vintage glass.

Then last week, while thrifting in Leamington Spa, I found another. This time a train covered in numbers. It is very childlike but I feel its fun quality fits right in! Again it is an orange one! It dates to 1969.

So where do we go from here? There are owls, horses, Noah’s Arks, cats (I NEED the cat one next!) and even pirates and soldiers. They come in blues and greens – so a green cat would be great (am I hinting enough here?) There are so  many to find so the hunt starts here!

They make me smile. What do you think? Find out more about them here.
