Vintage lighting is a hard choice to make as it often needs re-wiring. All vintage sellers should do this for you before selling (and PAT test it) which can put the price up for you, the customer. So make sure you check before buying as it is so important you get a safe purchase. There are some amazing lights out there, both old and new – here are some of my favourites available to buy right now.
On a recent trip to buy plants at Ikea (read all about it here) I was amazed at some of their recent designs. Obviously with a real Scandinavian feel which works so well in a mid century pad, they have everything from ceiling pendants to floor lamps. Here are some of my favourites.
[line] [line]I always love the lighting department in John Lewis, I can spend ages there! They of course have great classic lighting, but have a look at some of their vintage inspired ones. I personally love the Viola lamp, reminding me of Arkana tulip tables and chairs.
[line] [line]Another great shop for lighting is Next. It is affordable and has next day delivery. They also stock other brands allowing them to have some cooler, more way out lighting (and fashion) with less risk to them. The Bloomingdale copper floor lamp is a great example of this.

And finally, how about choosing an original instead. These ones are great…
