Beautiful Vintage Storage

Storage is so important in your home but can we make something so functional look pretty? I don’t know about you but we have so much “stuff” that really needs putting away especially in our children’s rooms. Boy do they have silly amounts of “stuff”!

Kitty (aged 4.5) has a really pretty vintage room, which featured in my book Style Your Modern Vintage Home. It is a mixture of pale green and lilac with many pretty flowers – the bedroom furniture came from my Great Aunt’s home and the beautiful 1960s wallpaper adorned the walls when we bought the house. Everyone loves this room, and in fact is one of my most repinned photos on Pinterest.

But she has so many little things which get lost in such a big space so have started to store things in baskets. However, when I was sent a vintage style trunk to review it seemed right to hand it over to Kitty for her dolls clothes and well, “stuff”.

It is from The Basket Company and has such a lovely feel to it. Firstly, it is sturdy and well made, not a flimsy card version which I have seen. It has rivets and antique style fittings which add to the vintage feel. Coming in 4 sizes, you could stack the lot and store more bits and bobs!

They also sell one with butterflies on in a stamp style motif which is also really nice. It also will make wonderful storage for a grown up’s bedroom!!
