I am such a fan of the designer Orla Kiely. My kitchen/diner looks like I am sponsored by her – with cushions, saucepans, planters, sugar bowls, tins, fruit bowls, place mats and, and, and. So when I was invited to speak at The Fashion and Textile Museum recently, I jumped at the chance to see their current exhibition featuring her work.
Yes there was homewares but what I really fell in love with was her fashion and her handbags. So much so, that I sat down in the middle of it and started to search on ebay for her old designs! I am now totally obsessed!
Her 1960s influences are clear (the era i love the most!) with patterned tights, platform shoes, mini dresses and so many pussy bows! This blog post is image heavy but you know what – no words are needed!
The exhibition is on until 23rd September so get to it over the summer. All info can be found here.
