A 1960s brown tweed autumn vintage dress

I have recently found quite a few vintage dresses that I adore – some from charity shops (i.e. cheap!) and some from vintage shops (where I spent more money!). I will share them over the next few weeks but the first one I want to show you is this 1960s autumn vintage dress.

It is a great simple dress in a classic fit and flare style which was popular in the 1950s. This one is 1960s which you can tell through the high round neckline and material. And a nylon zip – see some other ways to date vintage here.

What I love most about this dress is that it will be the perfect autumn vintage fashion item for me, worn with long boots, tights (too hot to put them on today!) and a fitted jacket.

It is in a faux wool material with a tweedy plaid pattern in browns with navy blue too.

It has belt loops but the belt is missing so I have added my trusty vintage gold belt which I wear a lot!

Firstly worn with my navy clogs from Lotta from Stockholm (the ones that i was wearing when I broke my foot – see they are not that high!) but I am also wearing it with my LK Bennett boots which cost a small fortune 12 years ago and look they are still going strong! Sometimes it pays to invest in footwear.

I am wearing another old (12 years?) cropped jacket from Tesco in a faux astrachan effect and holding my 1950s Princess Charming poodle bag. The bangles are vintage.
