Fashion Friday: A 1960s velvet vintage dress and Orla Kiely shoes

So last night was the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards in London town. So I had to get dressed up didn’t I in my vintage fashion finery (and good job too as there were so very glamorous folk there)?

Firstly though, before I talk vintage fashion, I need to say a HUGE GIGANTIC thank you to everyone who nominated me, who shortlisted me, and then who voted for me. I didn’t win but you know what, I am so proud and chuffed to have been a finalist in these prestigious awards. So thank you to everyone!

So what did I wear, I hear you cry (although you have probably seen it plastered all over my Facebook and Instagram pages!)! I wore this late 1960s dark blue velvet mini dress (which I reckon started life as a maxi dress).

I love it so much – I love the beading, I love the shape but most of all you gotta love the chiffon hugely ballooned sleeves.

I wore it with my new Orla Kiely shoes from Clarks. Having fallen in love with a similar wedged pair last season I knew that I HAD to have these! And don’t they go well? They are are covered in blue and gold glitter, I kid you not!
