Last week was National Wallpaper Week and this week it’s the turn of yummy chocolate! Alas I haven’t been sent lots of chocolate to review (this is probably a good thing!) so I thought to celebrate I would share my vintage chocolate tins.
I collect vintage tins, and find it very hard to walk by one without buying it. I’m actually trying hard to not get anymore as I have nowhere to store them but I assure you that I find that hard. My parents designed and produced tins through the 1970s, 1980s and beyond with many of their designs adorning you collections – you could say I have tin in the blood.
I particularly love Quality Street tins, enjoying how they have changed over the years while still keeping their soldier and lady as their brand.
This large one holds all my vintage buttons.
I have smaller ones too and really like the tall one for its different shape. I’m not sure what chocolates went in this one.
This Roses tin is a far cry from the Roses boxes you are used to seeing. I really love this one as it’s pretty. It stores marbles in and lives in the playroom.
These small Dairy Milk chocolate tins came inside an old sewing box and were filled with needles, cottons etc. They have faded over the years but I love them all the same.
Lastly is my Harlequin chocolates tin which I recently bought for 10p from a car boot sale. It is so fun and I particularly love the masked revellers around the side.
I have so many toffee and biscuit tins but not so many chocolate tins – I clearly need to try harder! And that my friends gives me a reason to buy more!
