There’s No Time Like the Past at York Racecourse this weekend-Celebrating 4 decades of Vintage Style! Alas we won’t be there this year as we are running the London National Vintage Wedding Fair which is a real shame – it looks like being the best one yet!
The Festival of Vintage is back for the 5th year in York at York Racecourse this weekend (25th & 26th April). A fun and nostalgic weekend attracting thousands of visitors, giving a feeling of being transported back in time!
Enjoy a packed programme including vintage dance lessons, make do & mend craft workshops, fashion parades, classic vehicles & displays. One of the main features of the weekender is a line-up of the top vintage talent. A great mixture of foot tapping songs will features on the live music stages that includes; The Jive Aces, The Bevin Boys, Brandyn Shaw & Doug Perkins and the Spectaculars
New for 2015 the Festival of Vintage have teamed up with Beamish Museum in the North East to bring a 1950’s living room display as well as Marks & Spencer’s company archive in Leeds who are bringing a nostalgic display of fashion & foods from the 1930’s-1960’s.
Festival organiser Keeley Harris said “For me the best part about the event is all the dancing, when I get a chance, I love to watch everybody jiving & swinging on the dancefloor to some brilliant bands”
With over 200 hand-picked vintage dealers from across the UK selling items from 1930’s-1960’s as well as 50 top quality Repro Brand and Vintage Craft Specialist, this event is a honey pot for vintage collectors & enthusiasts.
Get into the spirit of things by dressing in your favourite era making it a truly nostalgic day out for the whole family. Enter the Best Dressed contest and strut your stuff down the catwalk to wow the judges and win cash prizes.
Tickets are on-sale on the door priced at £10 per adult per day & accompanied children under 16 years are FREE.
