I love the 1960 and 1970s – they are my decades of choice for my home but also my wardrobe. So when I saw the latest range including this 1970s vintage style mac by Bright and Beautiful, the sister brand of Collectif, I got a tad excited.
Collectif are known for their 1940s and 1950s vintage reproduction designs but have recently introduced later styles such as mini dresses with Peter Pan collars and cute coats in A line shapes.
When I saw their mac I lost my mind – they have cord styles and mock suede that look so great on. They kindly sent me one to try – and I don’t think it is coming off!
The shape is lovely, really flattering. The belt nips in my waist and the flared A line shape hides my hips creating a classic French 1960s look. I like to tie the belt in a knot for a more relaxed look, but it works fastened too.
However, the wider collars reminds me of the 1970s – so it will look great with both looks.
The suedette is so soft, almost velvet like. I love the double breasted styling which buttons down quite low on the coat meaning it won’t flap open which is a great detail.
Teamed up with my LK Bennett suede boots and a chocolate brown faux crocodile skin vintage bag, the look is complete.
.Here are some more of my favourite designs from the range.
Thanks to Collectif for gifting me the coat.
