For the last weeks or so I have been writing the 1920s/30s chapter of my upcoming book: Style your Modern Vintage Home. I have been writing about bedrooms of the time and the rise of photography. Thinking about putting genuine photos into vintage frames for a styling feature, I thought I would ask my family for any old pictures from that era.
While I have some lovely vintage photos of my own grandparents they are from the 1940s, none earlier.
But my godmother has just sent me these of her parents from the 1930s, the decade they met and married. Nanna and Grandpa Bond were like grandparents to me while growing up so it’s been lovely to see these.
She designed her own dresses and made them herself. Check out her style from these…
I just had to share these with you all, I hope you like them! The first one is on their wedding day in 1939.
This is 1932/33: one of her own outfits
She made all the bridesmaid dresses in the mid 1930s
Love these old photos, the style is great especially her hats. If only we wore hats these days! Thanks for sharing X
