Your Vintage Tearoom

Your Vintage Tearoom had a jubilee to remember! We set up our mobile tearoom in the local park here in Cranfield. It was part of their jubilee “Party in the Park” celebration with live music, fancy dress and picnics.  All money raised was for local schools, and at £1 for a slice of cake and cuppa who could resist!

It was a very rainy day so we had to attach our awning to our lovely camper van to keep dry. We also made a last minute call out to friends to borrow their gazebo as our marquee wasn’t going to provide shelter for the expected 1000 guests.

Florence is our 1967 split screen camper which sat at the side of the tea room. The children were drawn to her, climbing all over the inside and beeping the horn again and again (and again).

The cakes were generously donated by people from the village including an amazing 250 beautiful cupcakes by “Butterflies, Bespoke Cupcakes”. Contact her here.

They taste even better than they look (and that’s saying something!)

The event went well and lots of cake was eaten. We were due to close up at 7.30 but Mr YVL was serving alongside our friend Be, until about 10.00 when the sun set!

Here are some pictures from the day!

Our 1940s flag with the Kings crown on hung from the cake table

Our coronation tins were out on display

We put out vintage books about the royal family on all the tables as well as 1950s magazines

Let them eat cake!

And finally, me with my pinny on and a 1950s original coronation flag.

Wonderful and inspirational. I’m thinking about doing a Tea Party for a fundraiser. This gave me lots of good ideas.
