Orange and Blue 1960s vintage style from Next

As you know I love to feature vintage style items not just true vintage, however I tend to prefer the originals. A reproduction piece has to have something about it to win me over to be honest, so when this press release arrived into my inbox I was a little dubious. Especially as I have only recently posted an article about new items based sometimes a little too closely on the old ones.

Next furniture is reliable and has nice styling to it..before I embraced vintage furniture many of my items in my home were from here. But since I have only bought vintage, I haven’t really noticed many items that I liked. Until now. Their new Studio range is funky, bright, affordable and also very me! Well it’s orange isn’t it?

The team at Next describe the range, “Take a trip down memory lane, reinvigorate your home with the funky 70s vibe of Studio. Tan leathers and walnut wood create warming base tones, with pops of burnt orange, lime green, yellow and blue adding character and vibrancy. Hand-drawn geo’s and bold stripes work against simple glass, wood and ceramic hard goods to create an elegant statement. With great value and style at the core of this collection, discover essential furniture and accessories influenced by retro design classics that stand the test of time.”

And I am planning on having a blue and orange bathroom (when it eventually happens…roll on the spring as we need a new roof!) and have found some vinyl tiles that really remind me of the range…great minds clearly are thinking alike. Oh and I have just noticed that it almost matches my new branding!

It also reminds me a little of Orla Kiely. What do you think? You likey?
