Our Vintage Life

Last weekend we travelled up north to visit Harrogate. It is such a beautiful town with lovely boutique shops but honestly. our favourite was Space. We popped in to have a butchers as well as to have our lunch. It has been recently re fitted and was crammed with some great goodies. I had my eye firmly on a Tretchikoff print but didn’t buy it! If you go there make sure you pop upstairs, not just for food and records but for the great furniture up there!

We also went to The National Vintage Wedding Fair for cake and a look at pretty vintage frocks. It was great to catch up with some friends and to meet some new people. We sat at the prettiest tables decorated with tea cups of flowers including snowdrops. I don’t think I’ve seen them in a display before – they were really pretty.

It was Valentine’s day last Friday and we had a romantic meal in courtesy of M&S’s dine for twenty quid. I bought Adam a Pantone phone cover…which of course was orange! It matched the 1960s Royal Doulton china perfectly! He bought me a red vintage briefcase which I featured a few weeks back. He buys things then gets so excited that he cannot wait so gives them to me in advance of birthdays, Christmas, in fact any occasion. I’m not complaining, honest!

We were featured in a Japanese magazine called Mr Partner. They visited London late last year and write a large feature on vintage fairs. They visited 2 that we were selling at: The Furniture Flea and The Vintage Home Show. Adam had his photo taken. We have no idea what it actually says (let’s hope they are saying good things!)

It’s half term so we have enjoyed some great family time, A trip to the cinema to watch the Lego film, pizza, and we have started to decorate the kids playroom. It’s not finished so watch this space for the big reveal!

The rest of the week has been spent getting ready for Vintage Academy tomorrow. It’s our second event and have lots of great people coming including one from France and one from Belgium! We have gone international!

Have you been up to anything exciting this week? Bought anything nice? Do share!!

Hi Kate and Adam, Lovely to see you in Mr Partner magazine. We too also featured in the same article, as we were trading at Love Vintage Fashion and Brocante in Wanstead. Like you we were curious as to what the speech bubble said and took the opportunity to tease Hubby and pretend it was something cheeky. But we were advised by Tomoko, the lovely gentleman who took the photos that our one said, “Even luxurious formal ladies’ hats are under 30 pounds!”. If you contact him he will be pleased to make the translation for you.
Best wishes, April and Andy – Razzle Dazzle Vintage
