We have just added this amazing vintage dress to our eBay shop. It’s a true stunner and more importantly is an original! It dates from the 1950s and is made by Herald Fashions.
A true prom dress in bright red satin and chiffon, it sweeps to the floor. The bodice is boned and it is beautifully made. Satin is rouched across the bodice with a bow on top.
Tuck the straps in to make a bandeau top.

I leaf through all my vintage books and turn to one of the most informative books called Vintage Fashion written by Emma Baxter-Wright.
In the 1950s section there is a remarkably similar dress. Infact it’s almost identical.
This one was made by Harrods. I wonder which came first??
