My Vintage Fashion Round Up

I started #dressupjune last Monday to encourage myself and others to ditch their jeans and embrace their vintage fashion. I’ve kept it up all week and here is what I’ve been wearing!

Vintage fashion dress as seen on kate Beavis Vintage Home blogFirst up is a vintage French dress bought at a car boot sale, a vintage Jaegar jacket, Lotta from Stockholm clogs (bought through Amazon) and a Princess Charming bag from the 1950s. I collect these bags, this one I bought from ebay, years ago!Vintage fashion dress as seen on kate Beavis Vintage Home blogTuesday I wore modern, this season’s chino trousers from Next teamed up with a vintage 1950s blouse, red Faith shoes (about 10 years old) and my M&S vintage patent bag, bought from a charity shop. The mac was from Tesco about 8 years ago – a sample from when I used to work as their Head of Visual Merchandising.Vintage fashion dress as seen on kate Beavis Vintage Home blogWednesday the sun shone, so I wore my 50p original 1950s cotton day dress bought from a car boot sale again! Yes you heard right….50p! Adam found it in a box right at the bottom along with a 1950s little girl’s dress. The bag and daisy necklace are both late 1950s also: the necklace from ebay and the bucket bag from a local nearly new shop.

Vintage Kate Beavis in vintage jaeger and Burberry

Friday we had the plasterer and the decorator in so I really had to force myself to dress nicely. I’m in modern here except the vintage Jaeger jacket again. The Burberry bag was bought by myself on my 30th birthday (to cheer myself up!) and hasn’t been out the wardrobe in years. I think it is time to show it off again (not too chavvy I hope). The stripe T is from Primark (current season) , shoes are Birkenstock via TK Maxx and trousers are again from Next.

Finally on Saturday I embraced my inner boho and wore for the first time, this vintage 1970s maxi gifted by my mother in law. I love it: it is quite Laura Ashley don’t you think? It’s one of those dresses you look at and think it’s OK….then you try it on and love it! I am wearing it with chunky bangles and a modern denim jacket. The bag is a 1960s Enid Collins wooden box bag which I bought from America on ebay.

On Sunday I wore leggings and a sweatshirt as I painted all day! Neither vintage, neither photo worthy!!

Which look is your fave?

You look great in all the outfits. I really love the boho look – plus it’s nice to have been given the dress! I like how you’ve successfully mixed the old with the new to create something unique. Great!

Thanks, am keeping it up in July but not sharing it everyday. Although people are asking to see it!
