My Vintage Fashion Round Up

Last week was the last few days of #dressupjune where I have dressed up daily in smart clothes or vintage fashion. I have really enjoyed it but it is now July so am relaxing slightly. However, it turns out that it’s become a bit of a habit and I am still making an effort!

Here is what I wore last week and where I got it from.

Monday

Black and White geometic dress and vintage accessories worn by Kate Beavis

This is a modern dress from Matalan, bought a few years back. I’ve teamed it with a black leather obi belt which is about 12 years old from Miss Selfridge. The shoes are a recent and much worn purchase from F+F at Tesco. However, I have added vintage accessories – the bag is a 1950s leather one, bought from a charity shop and the necklace is also from the same era (I can’t remember where I got it from – probably a car boot sale which is where most of my jewellery comes from)

Tuesday

Vintage 1970s embroidered top worn by Kate Beavis

It started getting very hot last Tuesday didn’t it? I wore my shorts from Next and my trusty Bikernstocks. The top is a vintage one in a soft cotton. I love the embroidery on it (again I can’t remember where I got it from!)

Wednesday

Leopard top

Wednesday was so hot! I think I changed about five times! This is how I started the day – in Next shorts and a Warehouse top bought from a charity shop! Not very vintage I know, but I love this top!

Friday

Vintage 1950s dress and poodle bag worn by Kate Beavis

Finally on Friday I wore full vintage for my new workshop held here at my home! The dress is a stunner which I really love. It is a 1950s cotton day dress but has a really nice side pleating detail. I also wore my red clogs from Lotta from Stockholm and a 1950s poodle window pane bag. The dress was from Scrooge, in Northampton.

Saturday

Vintage 1950s skirt and 1990s top worn by Kate Beavis

Saturday was spent at my children’s athletics and then at the schools summer fete so I needed something comfy and cool as it was still quite hot. I chose a 1950s cotton skirt bought from Ampthill Antiques Emporium and a 1990s silk cami top from Monsoon (I worked there for most of the 1990s!) I love the whole 90s trend of underwear as outerwear! Again I wore the F+F shoes!

Sunday

Vintage 1970s boho maxi dress worn by Kate BeavisI finished the week in my mother in law’s 1970s maxi dress worn with a pair of Clarks clogs and a 1970s leather saddle bag bought from ebay. A relaxed, boho look for a morning car booting!

Which one was your favourite? Are you wearing vintage everyday? I find that even a bit of vintage jewellery can be enough to make me smile!
