My Vintage Fashion Round Up

Well I am now in week 2 of #dressupjune and I am totally loving re-discovering my vintage fashion! I haven’t worn jeans in two weeks, choosing to wear a pretty frock instead! I really hope I continue this beyond June as I feel better, more confident and let’s face it, a pretty vintage outfit makes me smile. One mum at the school gate who I don’t know even came up and told me how wonderful I look every day…yay! Sharing the vintage love!

I started the week in an original cotton 1950s day dress worn with a modern (12 years old) Accessorize belt. To be honest the dress is now to big for me so had to wear a belt, but it looks better without. The dress was bought from a vintage shop in Northampton called Scrooge. I used a white leather vintage bag also from the 1950s, bought from a charity shop. The shoes are Birkenstocks and you can just see the lovely vintage bracelet in a matching blue.

Tuesday I am mixing vintage with modern: I am wearing a vintage cheesecloth top with new F+F trousers and shoes. The necklace I bought from India in the early noughties and the bag dates from the 1990s, bought from a junk shop in Milton Keynes.

On Wednesday my fringe was doing my (fore)head in, so got slicked back! I wore a vintage 1950s cotton skirt (cant remember where I bought it from!) with my trusted Primark jumper (7 years old) which I wear a lot! The bag is 1980s, leather and bought from Salvaged by Sarah Bell, at the MK Handmade and Vintage Fair in Milton Keynes. On my denim jacket I am wearing a 1960s enamel vintage brooch bought from ebay..

On Thursday it was hot, hot, hot and  I wore only  a little bit of vintage but I still felt dressed up. I wore a ten years old F+F skirt, Brikenstocks and a top from TK Maxx. The bag is vintage and bought from a car boot sale.

The stormy weather on Friday meant I couldn’t work out if it was hot or not! I wore a 1960s boat dress and a 1980s belt (again the dress is too big for me). Worn with leggings, chunky bangles and Birkenstocks.

Finally on Saturday, I went into London for our Vintage Academy workshop. I wore my favourite dress which hasnt fitted for ages! Its a Jaqmar silky material (they make scarves usually) with added peplum detail which I just adore. It dates from the late 50s/early 60s.Again I cant remember where I got it from…..I clearly have too many dresses! I wore it with my newly bought £1 vintage shoes bought the day before and a 12 year old Mango leather bomber jacket.

On Sunday I wore my PJs for most of the day so no photos!

So which one is your favourite?
