How to make a vintage Valentine’s Day wreath

Last week I showed you how to make a Valentine’s wreath using scraps of vintage fabric which was really well received by yourselves. This week the wreath is even easier and far more cute.

Material needed:

  • A piece of card, approx 30-40 cm square
  • Plain white paper
  • A colour printer
  • Scissors, sticky tape and glue
  • Ribbon to tie

1. Trawl the internet for images of vintage Valentine’s cards rather than using actual cards. Save them to your pc, then apply them to a Word or Powerpoint document. My images were about 5 inches tall. Print these out onto the white paper.

2. Draw around a dinner plate or a large circle item onto the card. Repeat using a smaller circle inside such as a saucer. Cut out to create a ring shape. Try to make the wreath part as wide as possible so that you have more surface to apply the cards onto.

3. Cut out the images and glue to the cardboard. If your images will overhang your cardboard alot then it would be best to glue the paper images to thin card to avoid them curling at the edges.

4. Create a ribbon strap to hang it by taping it to the back of the card.

This is really is so simple, but looks so  cute! This would also work for Easter, Christmas and brithdays!
